Why qubes just couldn’t handle all clipboard content, and block read/write it while user didn’t press ctrl+c, ctrl+v? Are we really need extra key (win+c, win+v) for do it? For example for pasting qubes check the window where mouse cursor is, after that, when user press ctrl+v Qubes paste clipboard content to that window, and clear clipboard buffer. I really don’t understand why a extra clipboard is required here?
Here is an example how to clear clipboard buffer content, after copying
This allows qubes os inter-qubes clipboard copy to be differentiated from clipboard of each independent qubes.
Can you provide any cases when that is useful? Security risk is the same, no?
But instead of just pressing ctrl+c i have to press extra win+c.
I thought that feature is useful for prevent clipboard content stealing, and clipping. This is a basic clipboard security risk. But this problem could be solved with another way.
It is really handy to have an independent clipboard in each qube when you have multiple tasks running. Single clipboard is only better when you literally have just one goal and that’s it.
Even if I’m doing research on a topic in one qube whilst taking notes on aforementioned topic in another qube, I find it useful to have two separate clipboards. That way I can handle links, quotes, search queries, and other raw data in one clipboard while using another clipboard purely for editing notes.
