Again, now i want to conect to my internal network and to the internet. I use a fixed addresse scheme and DHCP. How I am going to do that the most esiest way? Thank you for your very kind advice. Regards, Hitam
Many problems that people have in Qubes are actually not Qubes specific.
This is one of those.
The only Qubes specific part is that you have to do this in sys-net.
Make sure you have attacked your NIC to sys-net, bring up the sys-net
qube, and configure the network just as you would on any other machine.
(I dont know what your level of knowledge is - let us know if you need
specific help.)
I never presume to speak for the Qubes team.
When I comment in the Forum I speak for myself.
I’m assuming (from the “no error message anymore”) that you can start
Qubes, and run sys-net.
The default setting is for NetworkManager to use DHCP - you say that
this is what you are using, so I am not clear on what the issue is.
Can you explain how you want to connect to the network, and what
problem you are having.
You should see the NetworkManager icon up on the panel at the top of the
screen. Right Click on it and select “Connection Information” to see
information about your current connection, and “Edit Connections” if you
need to make changes to the default configuration.

Is your Wireless or Ethernet controller connected to your sys-net?
Check it in Qube Manger -->>sys-net right click on settings–>>Devices tab.
The controllers should be in the right column.
Do you see no red NetworkManager icon in tray?
If you see it then if you right-click on it and select “Edit connections…” then what do you see in the window that will open?
Maybe your network controller is not working properly in sys-net because of missing/incorrect drivers/firmware.
What’s the output of this command in sys-net? Do you see the interface of your network controller?
I would like to thank you for your tremendous help and support of the reported installation problems.
I the meantime i took some time to install Qubes 4.2.1 again from scratch and did not attempt to repair the broken installation.
I am now writing this from a working installation, including a running network.
I currently explore the possibilities and design the upgrade of the existing base system.
This thread can be gracefully closed, as i move on to explore the capabilities
of Qubes and design and configure it to my preferences.
Again, many many thanks for your great patience.
