Installation on TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 15 - Gen9 - AMD

I am trying to install Qubes on my TUXEDO laptop (not yet listed on the HCL).

However, the installation fails (Panic on CPU 0: Xen BUG at drivers/passthrough/amd/iommu_init.c:1386), which is likely due to AMD-Vi not enabled in UEFI (?). However, I do not find the option to actually enable this; the UEFI is very minimal without any chipset config menu.

my new laptop with a ryzen 7 8845hs is supposed to feature amd-v but IOMMU keeps troubling xen The Panic on CPU 0 points to: I tried bootoptions x2apic=false, iommu=no-intremap so far booting the device but of course not making HVM usable so not network and no usb… when installing bare metal Fedora 40 i am shown plenty of iommu groups for my pci hardware. so i hope its not locked by the bios somewhat? is this a mapping issue for said dev_id 0? and i could maybe get lucky by tinkerin…

the tong fang gx4idl i bought from skikk has the same issue.

so far the support form skikk only answered me that amd-vi is enabled.

maybe you are more successful with tuxedo support.

missing is the iommu recognition, and i am not sure if xen doesnt recognize the device table correctly (device range 0x3 - 0xfffe) or the bios simply disabled it.

maybe the tuxedo bios is more complex and you find settings for AMD-VI or even IOMMU.

i am interested how tuxedo answers.

Same here. The tuxedocomputers support also told me that IOMMU is enabled…

and fixed the issue after extensive debbuging from the xen project community and marek providing test binaries. thanks for everybodies patience

you could try test-patched xen - worked for me.
