Hello
i have reinstalled with Qubes 4.3 rc4 (BtrFS)
the laptop works well - when i does
it does not resume when it suspends, it goes into a black screen
all qubes were turned off, except for one (no network) with a text editor open
i am having difficulties to understand the issue
it is necessary to hard-rest the laptop, and start again
What info do i need to collect to understand this issue, please ?
and, HP has released a new bios/firmware - how does QuBes apply this update?
Ubuntu has a tool for this task.
Thanks in advance
working through this blindingly
thus, i will post my attempts to fix it.
I am having a look to use scripts to unload and reload modules, such as:
Thanks,
I am looking to resolve these issues on the hardware.
uploaded is a log of the system as i iterate over the possible issues and solutions.
I figure that something is waking up the laptop as it goes into suspend.
the usb-c shows that 17w are being used as the laptop screen goes black and fans go full throttle.
any idea on how this could be resolved ?
thanks,

Do you know what type of suspend your machine uses? s2idle or S3? should be able to find it in /sys/power/mem_sleep . From the CPU in your laptop I suspect it only supports s2idle.
If s2idle is your only option, check out if these instructions work:

## Current status
Initial support of S0ix is available for testing; see https… ://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/6411#issuecomment-2089227397.
-----
***Editor's note:** The original issue description below is somewhat out-of-date. This issue is now narrowly focused on support for the S0ix sleep state (aka "Modern Standby," "Low Power S0 Idle," "InstantGo," "Connected Standby," etc.) found in newer CPUs (especially Tiger Lake and later).*
-----
**The problem you're addressing (if any)**
It appears Qubes does not support Intel's latest version of processors.
**Describe the solution you'd like**
Support for Intel's latest version of their processors (i.e., tiger lake)
**Where is the value to a user, and who might that user be?**
People who want to benefit from the significant performance upgrades of Tiger Lake
**Describe alternatives you've considered**

**Additional context**

**Relevant [documentation](https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/) you've consulted**
N/A (I've checked GitHub for any open issues on this but either I've missed it or my SearchFu is weak)
**Related, [non-duplicate](https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/reporting-bugs/#new-issues-should-not-be-duplicates-of-existing-issues) issues**
