How to hide/ignore templates in update gui?

How can I hide/ignore templates and standalones when doing updates (and auto updates, I bricked my old install when I upgraded to 4.2 because of this) for qubes I NEVER EVER want to update (through the built in qubes method) ? (Windows, Linux testing stuff etc…)

I think this thread can interest you Disable Qube updates for a specific qube

thanks, are there any changes with 4.2 (The new system gui…?)

I don’t think this part changed, let’s assume the new update tool GUI honours the related knobs :woman_shrugging:

So as far as I can tell there is no way to make templates completely disappear from the update gui? If I only want to update certain qubes I should probably do a bash alias/script?

NVM can't read

I think this
sudo qubesctl --show-output --targets=win7,win10 state.sls update.qubes-vm

or this

[user@dom0 ~]$ qubes-vm-update --templates --skip win7,win10

is the way

(skip function in the gui is not yet implemented.)

I am too stupid to RTFM
