How to get the microphone to work on Thinkpad Carbon X1 Gen8?

Hi. I got everything to work on the Lenovo Thinkpad Carbon X1 Gen8 as per these instructions

Except the microphone.
I followed the instructions, but they weren’t that instructive. Where and how do I update the audio drivers? Would anyone have an idea how to do this? Thank you!
