Hello everyone, how can I connect a VPN to make it effective for other cubes? I am an amateur when it comes to VPN connections with Qubes, so I don’t know how to connect. The ultimate goal is to combine whonix communication and VPN communication. Answering the following questions will encourage my understanding of VPNs and Cubes.
- Prepare a VPN cube that uses vmuplink to provide open VPN communications and other services. Then set the VPN cube as the NET cube of another app cube. In that case, will the effectiveness of VPN communication affect only app cubes that have the VPN cube set to the NET cube? Or will VPN communication be effective on all cubes?
2. Connect to APP Cube using a VPN app. In this case, is the only app cube using the VPN app that will be effective? Or is it all the cubes? Or are they all cubes that connect the same NET cube as that App cube?
- In the first place, can VPN communication and Whonix communication be compatible? Whonix communications, as used here, refers to communications obtained by setting up Sysphonix on the NET cube.
4. For security reasons, I think it’s better to use a whonix cube as a VPN cube than using a Fedora as a VPN cube. Is it possible to connect to a VPN using vmuplink on a whonix cube?
- Is it meaningful to use Syshoonix Communications or Whoonix Cubes in terms of security in VPN communications? If it doesn’t make sense, the questions related to whonix themselves will no longer have any meaning.
6. One way to combine Hounix communication with VPN communication is to use Hounix with VPN communication. However, when I use the ProtonVPN app in Hoonix, I get the error “something went wrong.” Is this a problem with Hoonix? Is it a problem with protonVPN?
- If you set the NET cube to a VPN cube (OPEN VPN) on whonix, it will load until it times out during searching. You can search normally in Fedra. Why is this not working on whonix?
