I’m in the process of completely transferring my current install to salt, but I have no clue how to set the dom0 update qube. For the TemplateVMs, I just use the policy file and file.managed, but I can’t find anything. I also did a full search of dom0’s filesystem for sys-whonix (my update qube) and zilch. (I found plenty of returns, but none corresponding with dom0’s update qube.)

You can change dom0 update proxy qube using qubes-prefs command.

I assume you mean the updatevm value? Changing this worked for me, but it was a bit confusing. I had assumed that was for templates since it didn’t specify dom0. (Looking back that was a little stupid, considering templates use the policy file, but usually everything dom0-reated says dom0 somewhere.)
