For security purposes, I want to set a password for a folder in Qube or even in Qube itself. Does Qubes have such a feature? It would be better if you could put a password on the folder instead of Qube.
Also, there was a system in{thuner file manger} that allowed you to see Hidden files, but what exactly is a Hidden file? Does it have anything to do with setting a password? Can you also create a Hidden file with Qubes?
True his second question (about hidden files) was basic linux.
But “make password protected image file and mount it/decrypt when needed” is not trivial; you have to learn about loops, pick an encryption program, etc. etc. Your attitude seems to be “why bother us with this” though I could be reading you wrong.
Hi @phirip. Thanks for the question. As others are saying, a folder password is question unspecific to Qubes and you’ll find better answers if you look for linux in general or fedora specifically.
As for setting a password for accessing a particular qube, is more Qubes-specific and that is fine to keep discussing here.
I have edited the title to emphasize the Qubes-relevant part. Hopefully the links others provided already lead you to an answer for the general Linux part.
