How do I get my Qualcomm 6900 Wi-Fi Adapter working on Qubes OS 4.3? I've been trying for weeks

It is recognized and the drivers are correct, but it’s still not working. Should I get a new Wi-Fi Adapter, or does this adapter work on Qubes? It works on other operating systems.

00:07.0 Network controller: Qualcomm Technologies, Inc QCNFA765 Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)

Kernel Version 6.12.59-1.qubes.fc41.x86_64.

Ethernet works.

It’d be appreciated if you could also list a few Wi-Fi adapters (internal/external) that do work for certain on Qubes OS.

You should use a different Wi-Fi adapter, as there are multiple reports of the QCNFA765 not working with Qubes OS. Here are a few Wi-Fi adapters that work for certain with Qubes OS:

  • Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210
  • Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE200

These are provided as configurable options for the NovaCustom NV54/NV56 laptops, which are Qubes OS certified.

Do these work with a Lenovo Thinkpad P14s?

It should be fine, just ensure the TemplateVM is Fedora-based so that the sys-net AppVM has up-to-date firmware packages. This information is correct as of Qubes OS 4.2.4, but if a Debian 13 TemplateVM works with either of these Wi-Fi adapters using Qubes OS 4.3.0, let us know by replying in this topic.

  • Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE200

I use this one. Works great, love it.

I believe the wifi solution is soldered onto the P14s, not socketed, and therefore not replaceable. But you should double-check, because I’m not confident that I’m right.
