How do I get back to text mode bootup?

After I installed Qubes 4.0.3 the boot process was in text mode. After updating it there was a GUI and no boot messages are shown anymore.
The question is: How do I get back to the text based boot process?

Try pressing Escape to switch back to the text mode.

If you also want to log in with a text terminal instead of getting to the GUI, you hit ctrl-alt F2.
