So I bought a used laptop that was decomissioned from a company. How can I tell if it had IME configured for that company’s IT? Wouldn’t that basically mean that someone from that company could remotely monitor my Qubes OS?
If I am reading the documentation correct, for something like an organizations IT support, it would have be using a supported OS. So if I did not reset the BIOS by draining the battery out, the company who was using it for remote management of the system wouldn’t be able to use it with Qubes OS.
This does not rule out g-men from maliciously exploiting it if I am understanding the issues revolving around IME/AMT
