How can I switch the screen to monochrome (grayscale)?

Dear Qubes community,

I would like the screen to appear in black and white. How can I do this with Qubes 4.2 and XFCE?

You can try setting depth to 1 in Xorg config in dom0:

I tried it, but depth 1 in Xorg config does not work. The program redshift is only able to reduce blue light or to reduce the the brightness of each rgb color. Is there another way to achieve a grayscale screen?
