How can I search for file content in the file manager of an "AppVM"?

How can I search for file content in the “AppVM”?
Not in the terminal but in the file manager?
If you use a file manager other than “Thunar” for searching, how do you install it so that it can be used in the “AppVM”?

I don’t use nautilus but why do you use sudo nautilus instead of just nautilus ??

Try without sudo.

Thanks for the tip.
I have now also entered Nautilus in the terminal, but the supposed Nautilus software looks completely different to me, as I have already seen with others.

I think that the correct answer is: it’s not related to Qubes OS. Look for a solution in the docs of the file manager, (thunar, nautilus, etc.) or the desktop environment (Xfce, Gnome etc.) or the distro (Fedora, Gnome).

Correct. But between the options already available in Qubes:
Fedora XFCE, Fedora GNOME, Debian XFCE, Debian GNOME
Do any of these have indexing file content enabled by default?

I don’t think any template enables this by default in the AppVM. It’s using a LOT of CPU and disk resources, having it by default would not be great.

If you don’t need to find content from binary files like PDFs or “Documents” (libreoffice, word, excel), you can use a plain old grep -ri "pattern" /home/user/ 2>/dev/nullin the appvm.
