I know that Qubes coloring (making disp red, vault black) is important, but I want to get rid of it because I do not want
anyone looking at my monitor to know that I am using Qubes (I considered all other things and put a lot of time and effort
and got this done. No Qubes-specific on the monitor anymore, except icons (Tor Browser being red instead of purple, and so
on) and borders of windows (disp windows are red, others are other colors, making it easy to detect Qubes.)
I searched and did not find any, except: Remove border color, which is KDE specific and
did not work with me because I’m running XFCE.
In XFCE, the border colors are added using xpm files, in the xfwm4 folder of the theme in dom0.
If the theme you are using has both png and xpm borders, you can try deleting xpm files, but take a backup of the theme before doing this.
Alternatively, you can just switch to a theme without xpm files. You are not limited to only using the themes pre-installed in dom0, you can install any theme you want.
This would solve only window borders. Icons are still affected, besides borders of tooltips (and maybe others that I can’t remember)
Please people, pay attention to this thread. It seems very ignored. There are many people who would need this, and the topic is not discussed anywhere and not easy to understand.
Chose one color for ever qubes in it’s settings. If I remember correctly there’s gray color.
And if you chose for every qubes grey themed decorations then it will be unnoticeable.
