How can add audio to my standaloneVMs

I’m trying to play music inside a virtual machine on which I have a Linux distribution installed. The thing is that it is very different than when I use the templates that come by default in Qubes. The sound is not heard in the aforementioned virtual machine.

Did you install it in HVM mode? Without Qubes OS packages?
Maybe adding audio-model feature to VM could work:

qvm-features SuperAwesomeLinuxVM audio-model ich6
