I recently installed Qubes OS 4.3.0-rc4 on an internal drive using a USB stick, and everything went smoothly, until I did uname -r. This returned 6.12.59-1.qubes.fc41.x86_64, which isn’t the latest kernel supported on Qubes OS (6.17.x).
I need to update my kernel to 6.17.x to get my Wi-Fi adapter working, but I’m lost on how to do this.
Install the kernel-latest-qubes-vm package in dom0: sudo qubes-dom0-update kernel-latest-qubes-vm
Change the kernel used by sys-net in Settings->Advanced Pane->Kernel.
Restart sys-net
If you want to change the kernel used in dom0, install the
kernel-latest and kernel-lates-modules packages using qubes-dom0-update.
On a reboot the new kernel will be available.
I never presume to speak for the Qubes team.
When I comment in the Forum I speak for myself.
