notes
- had to add some iommu, i915 and other kernel options to get installer to even load/boot - cannot find specifics on readthedocs - I think it was mentioned in the actual installer READMEs.
- had to disable intel software raid in bios for it to detect nvme disks
- had to add āoptions snd_hda_intel power_save=0 power_save_controller=Nā to /etc/modprobe.d/snd_hda_intel.conf
- had to mess around with xsetwacom --set to ācalibrateā the touchscreen as I have 2nd monitor (Samsung S34J550WQE) attached via DP
- fingerprint reader seemed recognized but have not tested it yet.
- Performance is āOKā:
- Run about 7 qubes, including dom0 and 3x sys-* and 1x vpn - so can handle around 2-3 additional active ābig templateā qubes (depending on workloads), minimal templates/lite qubes/alpine qubes are a WIP but should further improve performance.
- Video performance is unstable - when it works it works great, but when it does not it becomes sluggish. Still troubleshooting as it was working fine but I think a recent 4.3rc1 kernel/dom0 update or grub/uefi/x11 config clobber changed something (maybe the āintel driverā as it now uses modesetting) and as such recently video playback on the second monitor has become unusable - 13" laptop monitor works fine however.
