This is just a report of graphical artifacts on the bottom of the screen when using the framebuffer driver on Qubes OS 4.1, on a Lenovo T470s laptop. They appear at the bottom of the screen as horizontal blinking green lines or sometimes as a pinkish grid that grows from the bottom towards the center of the screen. Replacing the framebuffer driver with the Intel driver in Xorg solves the issue.
I haven’t seen any stability problems with the Intel driver so far. Kernel: Linux dom0 6.4.8-1.qubes.fc32.x86_64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Tue Aug 8 22:09:56 CEST 2023 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux.
Perhaps it’s time to select Intel as default for Intel integrated graphics, if the driver stability issues are no longer causing problems.
Please feel free to move this post to where it belongs or let me know if I should report this somewhere else.
