I installed this software on a kali template, and the installation completed successfully, and I can use the software on the template, but not on the appvms created from the template: when I try to run the software, I get “command not found.”

You need to shut down the template and then restart the app qube for the changes to take effect.

Thank you for your reply and unhiding the thread. I did restart both, but I just double-checked and I am still getting “command not found” on the appvm, tho it will start up on the template. For now, I am using a standalone, but I would like to get it working if possible.

If I understand some portions of the installation script correctly, it saves the binaries in /usr/local
, which happens to be one of the directories not inherited from the template.
That said, I’d myself use the installer script directly in an AppVM.
