External antenna

I want to use a wifi external usb for my ubuntu qube but it is not allowed becuase of qrexec and from what i understand it is not secure to enable it. So i was thinking why not put the usb in an appvm and then supply wifi through to my standalone vm. How could i do that.

I assume your Ubuntu qube is a HVM based StandaloneVM without a template? (you installed via .iso?)

Your approach is perfectly reasonable and doable.
Just be sure to set “Provides network access to other qubes” in the Antenna AppVM, be sure to adjust nftables and forwarding to your needs, then switch Ubuntu’s NetVM to your Antenna AppVM, USB-attach antenna to Antenna AppVM and you’re good to go.
