Ext. LUKS USB mounting after RAM increase

Had some problems in mounting a 2 TB ext. USB Drive, which is encrypted via LUKS completely.
When trying mounting it in a terminal I got a hint about memory.
I increased the AppVM from 4GB to 6GB and now I could mounting and decrypt the USB Drive easily.

Does anybody know the background?

The PBKDF used by LUKS has specific memory requirements. Search for it if you want to read more about it. Nothing to do with Qubes OS.
