Hi,
I’m new to Qubes and can’t wait to get it fully up and running. I was wondering what the workaround steps might be if I wanted to use an ethernet connection through an USB-C adapter. The issue is I believe by default peripherals may not be allowed and I am unsure how to configure things so that it understands that USB-C cable is my internet and replaces wifi as connection option (and allows it).
Is there a way to remain with cable and no wifii?
Thank you for the help,
A newbie Qubes enthusiast
On a standard Qubes install your doggle should be attached to your Sys-usb by default on insertion. Then use the tray widget to attach to sys-net. The docs have whole secdtion on this USB troubleshooting — Qubes OS 4.3.2 documentation
The adapter will appear in sys-usb. After you attached it to sys-net it should work automatically. You can also use the auto attach feature so it will do this step automatically when you insert the dongle. You can either choose that Qubes remembers the device idendity, the port or both.
