Dear all good morning,
my first post here. I’m a long time linux-user (but not expert !)
I would like to test Qubes and I only have my laptop available. Unfortunately I’m obliged to keep windows partitions as well as my kubuntu OS.
It means I’m obliged to “test” Qubes with following conditions: UEFI, dual-boot.
A part from security issue ( again, I only want to test the OS, I will then evaluate a switch to it) I googled for 2 days looking for a solution but no luck.
Installation through anaconda was finalized, I gave to Qubes: a / partiton and /boot and separate /boot/efi partiton. I’m not able to boot qubes. Kubuntu-grub is not able to os-proper qubes; I’ve tried chainloader from kubuntu-grub to related xen.efi in /boot/efi but nothing. I’ve also tried to copy kernel in same directory but zero…
Any suggestion, docs, tips?
THanks for your time!
You can use efibootmgr
to create Qubes OS EFI boot menu entry and boot the Qubes OS using this entry in the EFI boot menu:
Dear apparatus I’ve tried what you’ve suggested but no luck: output in the terminal was showing “the new entry” but it was not coming out on efi menu
Anyway I was finally able to chainload Qubes from Grub adding:
insmod part_gpt
Thank you for your time
