Failed to connect to system scope bus via local transport: Operation not permitted (consider using --machine=@.host --user to connect to bus of other user)

Any suggestions?

Get in line, specifically here lol: Unable to update: "Failed to connect to system scope bus via local transport" - #11 by rustybird

Yes: restart sys-whonix, make sure the Tor connection is up, or even better wait for the sdwdate widget (padlock) to be complete/locked. Then try the update again.

I updated earlier without problems.

I’m doing a backup because it’s been awhile will try again when it’s done and report back here

Thanks for trying to help us, but I tried everything you wrote here and it does not change anything unfortunately. Still got the same error and can’t update dom0 (over sys-whonix).
Also please let us keep it in the thread I linked in my first reply here, so we don’t have multiple threads talking about the same problem.

Yeah, probably a Qubes repo problem? see my post here.
