Ok, so I wanted to install Qubes on my old laptop, which is a Dell Vostro 1520 (no discrete GPU) and based on my research it looks like the chipset it uses supports Intel VT-d. However … the installer tells me it does not and I do not see an option for it (besides regular virtualization) in the severely limited BIOS this unit has.
Is there an alternative or more open BIOS I may be able to force onto this system? If so, can someone please tell me where I might find it and the process required to do so?
