Remarks
To make Qubes OS run on this laptop, I had to:
- change SATA Operation mode from RAID On to AHCI, otherwise no disks were detected by Anaconda
- make sure that dom0’s Linux commandline has the options
nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0 pcie_aspm=off pcie_port_pm=off
set, otherwise hard lockups and forced restarts were presents - for extra security, I decided not to automatically accept USB keyboards and mice during the initial setup: the touchpad and touchscreen are USB devices, but the keyboard is not, meaning that once logged in, I can just manually accept the touchpad and touchscreen with the keyboard once dom0 prompts me
Some curiosities unrelated to Qubes OS, but might be worth mentioning in case someone else has the same configuration and wonders if these are Qubes-related bugs:
- the touchpad, i.e. Interlink Electronics Inc. VersaPad doesn’t distinguish between clicking the left button and tapping on it, i.e. tap-to-click toggling doesn’t exist and tap-to-click can’t be turned off
- rebooting doesn’t work at all and causes a software lockup of some sort, shutdown your system and start from a powered off state instead
