I put up a couple of Debian-14 templates, for any one who'd like to try
them in 4.3
There's a debian-14-xfce and debian-14-minimal - some rough edges on the
build, but otherwise pretty usable. You probably should check the
repository definitions to see if they need tuning for use with/without
cacher.
I think it's a little early for an official build, but I'll put up PRs
to allow this.
The templates are available here, signed with my Qubes signing key: https://qubes.3isec.org
A new kali-core follows shortly, based on forky as it should be..
I simply use qubesbuilderv2 - the modifications for building forky are
trivial - no keepassxc so there has to be a custom package.list, but
otherwise as .
I’ve posted before about modifying to build derivates - usually just a
question of adding scripts to copy in keys, create repos, and install
custom packages.
For new templates like OpenBSD it’s more difficult. In that case I use a
custom install and then process the generated disk image in to a normal
template package.
You can see these approaches on GitHub

It’s possible, but I would think they will need extensive feedback
before deployment.
Use the existing thread for gathering that, or open a new soliciting
feedback?

I’ve posted a new kali-core template for 4.3 for testing. It’s pretty
minimal but you can install whatever kali packages or meta packages you
want.
