Custom Keyboard Layout for Qubes OS Installation?

Hello people,

I want to install Qubes OS and be able to select and use my personal keyboard layout at installation time. I am a long-time user of Debian and I never used Fedora.

My first simplistic idea was to unpack the iso, modify the relevant .rpm files and the files list in repodata/, and re-build the iso with xorriso or genisoimage.

I know that a cleaner way could be to patch the sources of the relevant packages and try to use them with qubes-builderv2 to build my own iso from a Fedora system. Way too cumbersome in my situation.

So: is the simple method doable, or should I install my layout as rpms in dom0 after the global installation, from a personal repository (I will have to do that anyway) ?

Thanks for your attention

I think the second approach would be simpler. That avoids having to mess with the official ISO, which is trickier.

After having thought about it, I think you are right. I will get over some (hopefully short) uncomfortable time with an official layout until I install my rpms.

Thank you very much :slightly_smiling_face:
