Respectfully, I disagree.
For one, politics is already very much a part of forum discussions.
Examples
- How much do we gotta worry about this Linux "age verification" BS?
- Counterpoints - Why Anonymity No Longer Exists in 2026 - #17 by plankretriever
- Tor -> vpn -> tor -> vpn? - #14 by nealr
- Criminal cases involving Qubes systems in evidence? - #19 by nealr
- Mullvad VPN co-owner gives ~$500k USD to far right Swedish party (closed as off-topic, but blatantly political discourse remains)
- European Union And OS level Backdoors
- Qubes OS could be honeypot?
(note that I am not endorsing nor condemning any of these examples, just attempting to highlight the inevitable inclusion of matters of policy upon Qubes-related discussion)
Second, bad actors won’t (and don’t) respect the lack of an off-topic category, they’ll just spread FUD and create drama everywhere regardless.
Finally, the All around Qubes category is not ‘off-topic’, but rather an area for discussion of adjacent and relevant (but not Qubes-specific) topics.
