Connecting MetaQuest 2 to a Qube

I know, bizarre Friday night question. But anyway.

I am running a MetaQuest dev tool (SideQuest VR) in a Qube, and I am trying to see if it can connect to my MetaQuest 2.

Current situation:

  • Qubes OS see an “Oculus Quest 2” device and I assigned it to the right Qube (the one where SideQuest VR is running).
  • my MetaQuest 2 is in dev mode
  • But SideQuest VR says that my MetaQuest is not connected (have tried different USB ports, rebooting, but nothing)

Any hint would be greatly appreciated.

And, before anyone asks, of course I could run this on another PC, but here in my QubesOS laptop I got all of my dev tools and so. Also it is an interesting way to get to know the system better.

You can try to attach the whole PCI USB controller to which your USB device is connected to the qube and check if the software will see it.

Thank you for you kind answer.
I am just connecting my MetaQuest2 using a USB cable to one of the USB ports in my laptop. Not sure about the PCI facilities of my laptop.

Do you use USB keyboard/mouse?

Keyboard I use the internal one from my laptop, but I do use a external USB mouse.

Try to change the sys-usb template to the one that has your VR dev software installed and check if it’ll be able to see your device there.
