Computer requirements

Hello!
Could you please tell me if it is possible to install Qubes OS on a laptop with 8 GB RAM? Will it work or is a minimum of 16GB required?

I think it will be possible, with some limitation - eg:

Note: I’ve not tried it myself, so it is a guess, from what I’ve found/seen on the forum.

Edit: Maybe this could be useful/relevant for you:

Yes, it is possible. The bare minimum is 6 GB RAM:

It is indeed possible - the limitations will be on what you run,
and how you run it.
Qubes uses memory management which attempts to allocate memory
between the running qubes as needed. Don’t expect to run many qubes at
the same time. Don’t expect to be able to run memory intensive
applications without preparation. Don’t expect to be able to run
Firefox with many open tabs and streaming 4 videos from YouTube in
full screen at the same time.
But, with some preparation, and setting your expectations to reasonable
levels, you should be able to get by using a reasonable secure system.

I never presume to speak for the Qubes team. When I comment in the Forum or in the mailing lists I speak for myself.

I can attest to this. I was able to run Qubes on 8 GB (I thought it was four, I found out later it had been eight) though I didn’t want to run more than one or two “app” qubes at a time (this is in addition to sys-net and sys-firewall). I think I may have had three or four app qubes running, once, and really noticed a slowdown.

Thank you very much for your answers and information!
You have helped me a lot!
