Compatibility of software for managing keyboard and mouse

I am considering switching to Qubes as a daily driver, and am currently using ckb-next and piper to manage lighting and shortcut keys on my Logitech mouse and Corsair keyboard.
From reading the docs, it is my understanding that running this software and making it function for all qubes is not possible, but I thought I’d double check with the community to see if anyone managed to make that (or similar software) work?

You should be able to install them in sys-usb and they might work.

Would Qubes OS accept inputs from an application? I (perhaps wrongly) assume that it only accepts input from a physical device?
Otherwise, I presume that saving commands directly the the keyboard/mouse may work.
