I like qubes method of security but im not very technical and i dont have good hardware. also i think my threat level is just one step below the average qubes user
people say i should have a user friendly distro but i still like qubes’ isolation
Qubes runs on a type 1 hypervisor, Xen, which is not a Linux distro. You can certainly benefit from a user friendly Linux distro, but it will not be able to deliver the isolation offered by Qubes. If you can afford additional hardware, I’d encourage you to play around with both, and if cost is a barrier, Raspberry Pi OS is available on very cheap hardware.

I agree easier GUI is important. It is unfortunate window system itself is a source of risk. I hope transition to wayland gets to certain state soon and flexibility of desktop/window-manager and other GUI-related things become easier for development.
On the other hand, the performance of the PC is more quickly improving than OS getting heavier. I think Qubes OS itself is also slashing inefficiency.
I am planning to find some user friendly configurations from the side of the users. Of course, this is for specific interest of the business. Another reason is the cross point I mentioned above.
