@Sven pointed me to this thread.
The answer to your original question
“Can AI tools help answer Qubes OS support questions?” is “No”.
This is the second time (I am aware of), that someone has posted a
ChatGPT guide/answer. What is produced is plausible, but absolutely
useless.
My experience with ChatGPT generally is similar. It is like a book
report produced by some one who has little knowledge of the area, but
has picked up some buzz words. I recognise the words but the way in
which they are put together is senseless.
It is possible to get good results, no doubt - it takes work, and a good
knowledge of the subject area to be able to iterate over the response.
I think that Stack Overflow have it right, in banning use at the moment -
Overall, because the average rate of getting correct answers from ChatGPT is too low, the posting of answers created by ChatGPT is substantially harmful to the site and to users who are asking and looking for correct answers.
The full policy is worth a read.
@Disposable - you asked a second question:
What do you think about the future of these types of tools ?
I have no doubt that such tools will be incredibly important. Of equal
importance will be the ability to use them properly, and to know and
evaluate the results.
We are a long way off that at the moment on the evidence so far, present
hype not with standing.
