Bug: no initial setup screen during first boot

Hey folks,

I just installed Qubes 4.0.3 and ran into a problem.
During first boot, the initial setup did not show up.
So now when running Qubes only dom0 is available.

I reinstalled Qubes according to the installation guide with the same result: no initial setup, only dom0 available.

Is it possible to trigger the initial setup manually and how?

did you install in UEFI boot or legacy?
I had the same behaviour when I installed in uefi boot. ended up reinstall in legacy mode.
there are uefi trobleshooting guides in the docs, if you prefer.

I installed in legacy mode.

~2 months ago I installed Qubes on a USB stick for testing and it worked fine.
Currently I am using a SSD (from a broken notebook) that is plugged in via a USB-adapter.
Could this have an effect?

You can start the post-installation wizard with sudo /usr/libexec/initial-setup/initial-setup-graphical .
