Blank screen due to inactivity sometimes becomes unresponsive, how to disable?

Oftentimes when my display turns black/blank due to inactivity, my system turns unresponsive when I try to turn it back on. In Power Manager, I’ve tried toggling off the “display power management” and setting “blank after” to “never” as well as disabling “switchable graphics” in the BIOS so that only the integrated AMD GPU is used but this behavior persists. How can I make my display stop turning blank due to inactivity to avoid having to do a hard reboot to regain access? The device is a Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ARH7 (82SB) running Qubes OS 4.2.4.

You could also try going into XScreenSaver settings and disabling all blanking and power management options.
