Some Qubes users occasionally forget to revert the NetVM setting to ‘none’ after connecting the Template to internet to install software.
Is there a way to configure Qubes OS so that the NetVM for a template automatically reverts to ‘none’ the next time the template is started?
Currently there is not.
This is one of those cases where users should not run against the Qubes
defaults. There is almost never cause to connect a Template to the
internet.
You could leverage the hooks for exit to reset the netvm, or more
trivially, (and easily), run a script that resets the netvm for any
halted template to none.
