Auto Login for Standalones

Hi,

Hopefully there’s no such thing as a stupid question.

I couldn’t find anywhere that stated whether it was wise to setup an auto-login for standalone VMs, such as a Windows VM.

In total I have to input 3 passwords, one for disk decryption, one for logging into dom0, and now one for signing into my Windows VM, which is getting a bit much for me.

Would it be a good idea to setup auto-login for this Windows VM? I plan on pretty much only using it for gaming.

hi

I see no benefits having to type a password to log yourself into a standalone qube

You may also be interested in this as a workaround to the prompt after the LUKS encryption:

For Windows (via editing the Registry):

If you do not want a One drive login, you must install windows without internet access.

If it’s too late and you had to setup an online account, there is a settings in Windows to configure a local login (which can be passwordless).

Thanks, I managed to do an offline installation + regedit to get the passwordless login to work.
