Remarks

Qubes OS installs, boots, and operates successfully on this motherboard. The Radeon RX 9070 XT is used by dom0. Both GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs have been successfully assigned to HVMs for headless operation and for direct display output through monitors connected to the assigned GPUs.

The following dual-GPU configurations were successfully tested:

  • Both RTX 4090 GPUs assigned to one headless HVM.
  • Both RTX 4090 GPUs assigned to one display-attached HVM.
  • One RTX 4090 assigned to each of two simultaneous headless HVMs.
  • One RTX 4090 assigned to each of two simultaneous display-attached HVMs.
  • One headless HVM and one display-attached HVM, each assigned one RTX 4090, with both GPU-to-HVM assignment permutations tested.

An onboard AMD USB controller at 0000:8d:00.0 can be assigned successfully to sys-usb or directly to an HVM. A keyboard and mouse connected through this controller work in the HVM.

Hiding the onboard AMD USB controller at 0000:e6:00.4 using rd.qubes.hide_pci causes storage enumeration to fail during early boot and prevents the encrypted root volume from being opened. This controller must therefore remain assigned to dom0.

Suspend and resume have not been tested.
