AppVM (laggy) vs DisposableVM (snappy)?

Hello -
Qube noob here.
I was wondering what could be the cause for a fresh Qube to be laggy.
I have 32GB of RAM, so I do not believe it is the RAM.

Super slow VM (mouse cursor extremely laggy)

  • template: Fedora 38 XFCE (AppVM)
  • networking: Sys-firewall

Snappy VM (everything normal) no lagging

  • default dvm (disposable)
  • networking: Sys-firewall

I do not clone my qubes.
I have the most recent Qubes update

how could the mouse cursor be slow in a single case as it’s managed by dom0?
