Analysis of a disk issue

My disk owns 99% available spare, so maybe I can register the failed sectors as not-to-be-used and continue to use my SSD. But it’s the start of the SSD end-of-life.

This sucks. Reminds me of my recent incident:

Speaking of backups. The Transcend m.2 2240 on Elitebook 820 G1 development machine broke. And it is not the controller. It has worn out (too many templates & keeping them updated do wear-out NAND). My last backup is from 30th July. Nothing serious on this machine. It is primarily used for Qubes OS developments and tests… [SMART-1] [SMART-2]

I have not replaced that SSD yet. But removed as much as data as possible (specifically Windows 11 template) to extend its life and it is working fine for the time. The new model I ordered has some DRAM and much better rated lifespan.
