@tasket @Justin Kind reminder that the community guidelines encourage to “[be] respectful of the topics and the people discussing them, even if you disagree with some of what is being said” and to avoid ad hominen attacks.
The way I see it: if we’re here to learn and contribute to making people safer, we need to understand rather that assume the reasons for the behaviors we disagee with. We can only do that if people feel welcome and respected enough to join the conversation, and we all make an effort to provide reasoned arguments that improve it.
We may disagree on what that means to some extent, but I think we can agree to criticizing ideas (or behaviors), not people.
