Hello, now I understand why the printer installation is so difficult. I have read and tried a lot without success. I want to connect the printer EPSON WorkForce Pro WF-4820 in Qubes 4.1 without network via USB to the PC. Apart from the mouse, usb-sticks and a video camera (read memory only) are connected to the USB ports. I have understood that a standalone VM is best suited for this. When I installed Qubes, I did not install create usb qube. With the Qubes tool Create Qubes VM I created a standallone VM Qube: USB-Printer. I can’t figure out how to integrate the CUPS tool, which is included in Fedora. No template is entered in the standalone VM Qube: USB-Printer. How the possibly missing driver is loaded into CUPS, I have found here https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/cups-useful-trick/#_how_to_install_a_printer_via_printer_application_in_snap_and_making_it_available_for_cups. I am a beginner who has basically managed everything by copying it out. Can you give me some tips on how I should proceed to make the printer usable? Is there an easier way?
Do you have by chance more than one USB controller? You can find it out from an hcl report. If yes, you could attach your printer 's USB controller to the VM and configure as if it was a regular Linux distro.
No, unfortunately I only have one USB controller.
