Acer Aspire 3 with Ryzen 5 quad core or Dell Inspiron 15 with Ryzen 3 dual-core for qubes?

I am currently faced with the question of whether I should buy a new notebook and use Qubes with an Acer notebook with AMD Ryzen 5 Quad Core and 8GB or a Dell with AMD Ryzen 3 Dual Core and 16 GB RAM.

What is more important with Qubes, the number and strength of the processor cores or the RAM?

Here are the data of the notebooks

  • Acer Aspire 3 A315-23-R9H2 black, Ryzen 5 3500U (up to 3.7 GHz), quad core, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD
  • Dell Inspiron 15 3505 black, Ryzen 3 3250U (up to 3.5 GHz), dual-core, 8GB RAM + 8GB RAM upgraded, 256GB SSD

How important is the hard drive (256 GB SSD vs. 512 GB SSD) for daily use qubes?

It all depends on your usage patterns. For me, 16 GB of RAM was not sufficient, but with 32 GB I never reach the limit. I am normally running several disposables with Firefox simultaneously.
Two cores (i7-6500U, 2.5GHz with boost to 3.1GHz) are struggling with hi-resolution Youtube videos, but 6 cores are smooth.

If you do not store a lot of data on your machine, 256 GB SSD can be sufficient. But for me it’s not.
