Xsane problems

So, I have run into an odd behavior in Xsane for some reason the the qube that runs this is behaving completely different from the template. I open Xsane and it scans for devices an that’s fine. This qube just defaults to the first device. An for some reasons that device is not a working device.

In the template I have the same problem with this device. However the template gives me a choice of what device I want to use. An then I am able to just choose the working one and Roberts your mothers brother it works.

Any suggestions on how to fix this. or perhaps a better scanner util than Xsane.

Not sure it should go here mods feel free to move it If this is the wrong place.

I haven’t used sane for many years but I have a vague memory there was a way to configure explicitly which device to use.

Have you checked the docs how to do that?

hmm i haven’t looked at the docs directly for xsane but one would think a good search would have dug that up. I will take a second look the hard way.
