In xentop, dom0 is consistently reported to use 40% CPU on my device. This is without even running the xfce4 DE (just a lightweight window manager). Meanwhile, top reports about 5%, with occasional spikes up to 10% (and most of it being caused by top itself).
Can anyone reproduce this? And what could explain the discrepancy?
xentop reports cumulative vcpus usage.
If 4 vcpu is used like 50%, 10%, 30%, and 20% then xentop will report 110%
And top by default is showing first core percetage usage - need to change cpu usage to citrix mode to show average.
PS: not citrix but Irix mode
Ah ok. I couldn’t find something about a citrix mode in the man page. But I used the 1 command to view all CPUs, then ! to aggregate them (and t to display a total for user + system). I can see now that it corresponds to xentop. Thanks
