I wanted it too.
For avoiding the issue “full screen mode has a potential risk”, I would rather restrict the menu.
What about this: the guest mode
- restricts the menu so that
Q->menu to show one item ofEnable Qubes, - requires authentication for “enabling
qubes”, - add the menu for applications available for the guest, which all runs in the guest
qube, - locks the workspace into “Guest workspace” so that the other people’s data are not visible to the guest,
- requires authentication for connecting to the network and usb-memory.
This has much more uses than the advice “do not let anyone else to touch your computer” expects.
This is very useful in the conference: presentation, internet access like email and last minutes update of slides.
Guest qube protects the speaker, another speaker from each other.
Authentication should have an option of biometrics because the guest qube is invoked and terminated every time new speaker uses the computer.
I think the organizer helps connection to the network/usb-memory. I am sure the speaker is gazing the computer at that time.
Addition: I am looking for guest mode, user mode and alike. I asked a similar thing in another thread.
That thread focuses on some other part of GUI first.
