Why? Kicksecure is based on Debian and is the base for Whonix.
If you need such a template in Qubes OS, you can choose Whonix, even as your default template.
Kicksecure itself as OS has not even a number on Distrowatch, in comparison to the two main template OS, Debian (4) and Fedora (9), so we can assume, that kicksecure as OS has no meaning to the mass of users.
Kicksecure is really good though for clearnet. I am sure there are people (such as myself) who don’t need tor but want the security benefits of whonix (kernel hardening etc). And as qubesos is a security focused OS it would sort of make more sense for kicksecure to be the standard
Again, no. I’m not arguing against a kicksecure template, i’m arguing against to make such a template the default one. If such a template exists and someone need it as default template, he can make that as his default. Thats not complicated and is easy for everyone, that is able to use kicksecure as day-to-day OS.
Yes, of course. More systems to chose from means more flexibility.
But for the average or not so technically educated user usage of the system should be easy as it can be. And debian, fedora or eventually ubuntu are better as starting point for that target group.
