Are there any status on that please?
I kinda want to install, but not sure if I should install the 4.2.4 or wait for the 4.3
Release schedules are available on site:
While r4.3 final release date is not yet decided, it is pretty usable. Specially as 1st time installation (rather than in-place upgrade). I would personally recommend it over r4.2 at this moment.
Thanks, missed that. So rc3 is gonna be next.
Alrighty then, I’ll go with the 4.3 rc2.
Just a quick follow up question, would I need to enable some testing repos for this or do something in addition? Or should I just treat it as final and everything should just work?
I believe you will be OK with stable repos at this stage. Just some notes on what will change in r4.3 final:
- Debian 13 Trixie template would be most probably the default Debian template. You will have to download it later (if you need it).
- Whonix Gateway & Workstation 18 will be the default. You will need to download them if you need them.
So if you do heavy modifications to your Debian and Whonix templates in rc2, take note of your customization to be able to apply them to the forthcoming new templates.
Otherwise with normal updates, your system should be automatically upgraded to r4.3 stable later.
Second this.
Thanks, noted
